The Longji Terraces are
located near
Longsheng north of Guilin. The rice terraces where first built
in the Yuan dynasty (13th century) by the Yao and Zhuang people, who
mastered the art of cultivating the slopes in very
small parcels. Every ribbon of land is irrigated, winding its
way, as if on the spine of a dragon, from the riverside up
to the mountain top at 1180 m. Incredible panoramic view.

Leave at 8h00 in the morning from the hotel,
drive 3 to 3.5 hours to Longsheng county, lunch in Ping'an
village, visit Longji Terrace Fields and
villages of minority Zhuang, Yao people. The guide will take you off
the beaten tracks along small trails away from the crowd. Return to the
taxi before dark, drive
back to Yangshuo and
transfer to the hotel.
