angel's home 

Mike Feng, a kung fu, Taï-chi-chuan and Qi-gong master has created with his wife Amanda a welcoming center and school for orphans and poor kids called "Angel's Home". From the daily training program they set up a martial art show that unables them to raise money for the children and a way for them to find a footing in life.

The children age range from 3 to 17. Angel’s Home offers love, training, and shelter. Mike has trained many of the young men in the finer martial arts (and one girl). Himself was trained by his grand-father who used to be a Shaolin monk. Noticed for his high skills he joined the Beijing School of Martial Art, one of the most prestigious in China (Jacky Chan, amongst others, fallowed courses there).  

It is possible to appreciate the skill of the group by attending to one of there performance. Mike does several tai chi and Kungfu pieces and the children perform a dazzling array of routines involving swords, sticks, and kick fighting. 

It is also a good occasion to discover the famous chinese Dragon Dance as it has been played for more than 2000 years in China during the traditional festivals. This thrilling dance is supposed to repel the bad spirits, whilst the display of agile dancers offers a highly colourful show. It continues with the Lion Dance where you can see two different boys, head and tail, jumping high on platforms, playing with the spectators, and accompanied by drums and music.

Mike also gives Kong-fu and Tai Chi lessons. One hour of kung-fu training cost 120 yuan (lower prices for small groups).
